Reopening of St James Church Preschool - June 2020
We will be partially reopening on Monday 8th June 2020. Changes have been made to how our sessions run in order to comply with Government regulations and to support our staffing and headcount. We will be running morning sessions only, from 9am to 11:30am. We will have 'bubbles' of staff and children so will be offering either Monday and Thursday mornings or Tuesday and Friday mornings. There will be 2 staff members and up to 6 children per 'bubble'.
There will be no lunch club, afternoon sessions or early drop-off until further notice.
We will continue to review how we operate based on continued government and local council advice, and based on how well the sessions operate under these conditions.
The following documentation will be provided to parents and carers for completion before their child returns to us.

Return to preschool - September 2020
We will be fully reopening on Thursday 3rd September 2020 for the Autumn Term. Session days and times will return to normal, starting at 9 am (or 8:45 for early drop-off) until 12pm, then lunch club from 12 to 12:45 pm, and the afternoon session from 12:45 pm to 3:45 pm. As the setting is small we are able to run as one bubble across all sessions. We will be running at a slightly lower number of children per session, capping the sessions at 18 children instead of our usual 20. This may return to 20 children per session at a later date.
Parents will not be allowed into the building, instead handing over their children to the care of our staff in the garden just outside the doors. The number of items brought in to preschool must be limited to a named water bottle, lunch box (if applicable) a raincoat, named wellies, a small bag with a change of clothes and nappies/wipes (if applicable). We cannot have any toys brought in from home into pre-school at the current time.
Our cleaning policies are continuing in line with government advice, as outlined in our Q and A document published when we first reopened (see below).
We will continue to review how we operate based on continued government and local council advice and based on how well the sessions operate under these conditions.
